Battlefield 6 Season 3 Is Live
Battlefield 6 Season 3: High-Value Target has officially launched, bringing the most substantial content update the game has received since launch. Season 3 introduces Tactical Obliteration — a new competitive game mode focused on destroying specific high-value targets rather than capturing zones — alongside a Casual Battle Royale mode designed for players who want a lower-stakes version of the format without the intense competitive pressure of standard Battle Royale. A free trial running until July 6 has given players who have never tried Battlefield 6 a window to experience the full game at no cost.
What Season 3 Actually Adds
Beyond the two new modes, Season 3 includes the Wet Work seasonal event — a water-focused map rotation with limited-time cosmetic rewards tied to completing event challenges. New hardware has been added to the game's arsenal, including two new weapons and a vehicle variant that has been heavily requested by the community since launch. The seasonal battle pass includes 100 tiers of cosmetic rewards, with the premium tier offering character skins, weapon blueprints, and vehicle wraps themed around the High-Value Target special operations aesthetic. Season 3 is expected to run through late September 2026, giving players approximately three months of content before Season 4.
How Battlefield 6 Is Positioned Going Into GTA 6 Season
Battlefield 6's Season 3 launch in July puts it in an interesting position. The game has a strong player base and Season 3 content should sustain engagement through the summer. But October and November — when Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23 and GTA 6 follows November 19 — will be a severe test of whether Battlefield can maintain its player counts when two of the most anticipated games in years are both launching within the same four-week window.
What This Means for Indian Battlefield Players
Indian Battlefield 6 players get access to Season 3 content alongside the global launch — all modes, events, and new hardware are available immediately. The free trial window has already closed as of July 6, but the base game is available on PlayStation Plus Extra tier for subscribers. For Indian players on PC, Battlefield 6 is available through EA App with EA Play included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate — one of the better value propositions in gaming for players who want access to both services under one subscription.
My Take
Tactical Obliteration is the mode Battlefield should have launched with — a clear, achievable objective that rewards coordinated team play without the frustrating stalemates that traditional Conquest mode can produce. If Season 3 is the version of Battlefield 6 that was always planned, it is a genuinely strong shooter that deserves more attention than it has received. The free trial window was a smart move — get players in the door, let the gunplay speak for itself. Battlefield has always been best when it remembers that vehicles and destruction are what separate it from everything else.
