The PlayStation 5 Pro may finally be heading to India after reports claimed the console appeared in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification database.
The BIS process is required before electronics can be officially sold in India, and listings in the system often signal that a launch could be approaching.
The PS5 Pro released globally in November 2024, but India has not received an official retail launch yet. One key reason is believed to be additional regulatory clearance for newer wireless standards used by the upgraded console.
PS5 Pro hardware includes support for Wi-Fi 7 and 6GHz connectivity, which can require extra certification checks in the Indian market.
With a BIS listing now reportedly visible, analysts expect Sony could be preparing to announce PS5 Pro India availability, pricing, and retail distribution in the coming months.
The timing is especially important because Grand Theft Auto VI is expected in 2026, and many players in India want stronger hardware for better frame rates, faster loading, and improved visuals in next-generation games.
Sony has not confirmed an official launch date for PS5 Pro in India yet. Still, BIS progress is usually seen as one of the final steps before a product reaches stores.
If this certification process moves quickly, Indian gamers could see a PS5 Pro release before GTA 6, which would make this one of Sony's biggest regional hardware launches in recent years.
